Alba's direct message for Enrique

With another impressive showing under his belt, Jordi Alba is continuing to enjoy an excellent start to this LaLiga Santander season and on Sunday afternoon Real Madrid had no response as they became his latest victim.

His presence in attack, while also making light work of his defensive duties against Gareth Bale, provided his side with a gem and the left-back played a key role in Philippe Coutinho's opener.

The second, which came courtesy of a Luis Suarez penalty after the Uruguayan was fouled by Raphael Varane, also came with the help of Jordi Alba, who continues to put himself forward as Spain's best left-back despite Luis Enrique continuing to overlook him.

Will the third time be the charm?

At the moment, Lucho hasn't been willing to give in and call up the Barcelona star for the national team, but it is getting to the point where his exclusion will be impossible to justify.

In the mixed zone after the game the Spaniard expressed his delight at how things are going.

"I'm in a great moment and playing with great confidence because of my teammates, coach and fans," he said.

"I'm at a very good point of my career both on a personal and sporting level."

Gerard Pique meanwhile joined in and called for Jordi Alba's inclusion in the next Spain squad.

"I hope Luis Enrique rectifies the situation and calls him again," he said.

At the moment, the alternatives for the role are Marcos Alonso and Jose Luis Gaya.
