David Albelda tweeted in 2014 that Ronald Koeman would be a good choice to become Barcelona head coach, which became a reality on Wednesday, but although it seems like a compliment, it was the opposite.
The former midfielder was coached by Koeman at Valencia in the 2007/08 season and he was making the point that he would drop Barcelona's level to a point where it made LaLiga Santander a more level playing field.
"I see people talking about Koeman today," Albelda tweeted back in 2014.
"I hope one day he coaches Barcelona so that LaLiga can be evened out a bit."
The likes of Joaquin Sanchez, Santi Canizares and Vicente Rodriguez also publicly criticised Koeman's time at Valencia.
