Aleix Vidal claimed that to stay at the top of the LaLiga Santander table, Sevilla need to keep working very hard on the pitch
The former Barcelona right-back admitted that despite their position, the Andalusians aren't the best team in the league.
"At the beginning we had a bad run were we seemed to be the worst, but now that we are up there we are not the best," he told SFC Radio.
"We always want to be in this situation, but we have to work very hard to continue having this privileged position.
"We are delighted with [Pablo] Machin's work and how he is doing things, as he is a very good coach."
Vidal went on to discuss the team's upcoming game against Barcelona.
"They are still three points but we are going to go to a very difficult stadium, where [the game] becomes very long to play as a visitor, if you are not concentrated to the maximum," he added.
"They have players who make very fast decisions despite not going through good phases of the game and the season.
"We are going to compete, to try to make a good match and try to score and continue up there.
"They have absences in defence but they have many different options to take on the problems and face possible changes in that part of the field.
"They also spend much more time attacking than defending."
The Spaniard also talked about Sevilla's preparation for Saturday's game.
"We have returned with a good training session and we already are focused on Saturday's game, which is going to be very complicated," he noted.
"We are preparing well and as soon as all the internationals arrive we can do it with all the troops.
"The more we are and the more that are available means we put the coach under pressure and without a doubt that is good for the competition within a team."

Sevilla is his spiritual home. It's the only club that has been able to make him consistently show his quality, and find the right role for him in the team.
