Algeria casts the net wide as talks begin with Europe-based talents

Algeria are quietly but deliberately shaping the future of their national team, and the latest moves suggest a strategy rooted in anticipation rather than reaction. 

The Algerian Football Federation has opened discussions with a group of Europe-based players who are all eligible to represent the Desert Foxes, signaling a renewed push to strengthen the squad with high-potential profiles.

Among the names in contact with Algeria is Elyaz Zidane, the young defender and son of football icon Zinedine Zidane. Highly regarded for his composure and tactical intelligence, Elyaz has progressed steadily through the French system and is viewed as a long-term defensive asset.

Ethan Mbappé is also part of the conversations. The versatile midfielder, and younger brother of France captain Kylian Mbappé, brings pace, energy, and modern midfield dynamism. While his development continues at club level, Algeria see in him a player who could grow into a key role over the coming years.

Maxime Lopez represents a more experienced option. The Marseille-born midfielder, currently plying his trade abroad, has long been admired for his technical quality, vision, and control in tight spaces.
