Max Allegri lifted the lid on coaching Cristiano Ronaldo and gave a cryptic answer when asked to compare him to Lionel Messi. 'His mind is programmed to win.'
The former Juventus and Milan coach broke his silence during a lengthy interview with Sky Sport Italia on Sunday night.
“Ronaldo too is human and can make mistakes, but there are few who can shake off a defender and run at the goal like him.
“Cristiano’s strength is that he has this mind that is programmed to win. He won five Ballon d’Or trophies, the Champions League, so many titles, yet he is there giving himself new motivation every single day.
“It’s also natural that those who play alongside him must understand the space that he leaves has to be filled by the other guy.
“Poor Mario Mandzukic, playing with Cristiano Ronaldo, he ran more in that year than his entire career… I love Mandzukic, he’s a fantastic player.”
However, when Allegri was asked outright to choose between Ronaldo and Messi, the reply was cryptic.
“They are two very different players. I’d say one is greater, the other is better.”

Do u know how u can tell that Allegri prefers, or rather knows that Messi is the "greatest"? Every coach will go for someone they coached, but Allegri doesn't do that but instead answers the question indirectly. Probably out of respect for CR7 and Juventus. Allegri knows that CR7 is good (or better if u like), but mostly importantly that Messi is totally sth else (the greatest).
