Ansu Fati, Pedri, Ferran Torres, Eric Garcia, Gavi and Ronald Araujo 'are the untouchable players'

Barcelona will listen to offers for all but six of their current first team players, say reports, as the club looks to bolster its liquidity ahead of a busy summer at the club.

Despite Xavi Hernandez overseeing something of a resurgence at the club this season, Barcelona's financial plight remains perilous and with new signings needed to continue his revolution most players are considered expendable.

According to Goal, all but Ansu Fati, Pedri, Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Gavi and Ferran Torres will have the club at least sit down to discuss a potential deal.

It is believed that Barcelona's total debt still amounts to around £1.2bn, with the club's losses totalling around £410m for the 2020/21 season alone.

The club also exceeded its salary limit by around £122m, with the club therefore unable to sign players under LaLiga's 25 per cent rule. I.e., for every four million saved, one million can be used to sign players.

Reports state that all of this amounts to the growing need for the club to sell assets, despite the Catalan side trying to push through deals that they hope will alleviate some of the financial strain still being very firmly pressed down on the club at this time.

The LaLiga deal with CVC Capital Partners would see the company gain an 8.2 per cent stake in a new company that will get the broadcasting rights and revenue streams from the league for the next fifty years.

Barcelona had previously been totally opposed to the idea, threatening legal action alongside Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid when the deal was first voted through last year.

The anti-CVC triumvirate had considered it 'an illegal transaction that causes irreparable damage to the entire Spanish football sector'.

It has seen been mooted that Barcelona would receive an additional £229m in funding that would crucially be counted as revenue not debt were they to sign up to the CVC deal.

With uncertainty surrounding the club and the business it can potentially do this summer, thoughts have turned to the playing squad and which members of it possess value that Barcelona can cash in on.

A notable exclusion from the list of six is Frenkie de Jong, the Dutch midfielder signed to much fanfare in the summer of 2019 from Ajax.

Despite De Jong's obvious talent, the report states that his enormous wages - said to amount to over £10m per year - make the club interested in selling the player who was once considered amongst the prized 'untouchable' assets.

Goal claim that were an offer of around £51m arrive for De Jong, it would be 'practically irrefutable' for the club's hierarchy.

With astronomical wages still proving a point of difficulty for the Barcelona board, something they noted when they released last season's financial results last year, getting those players off the wage bill will prove a huge boost to the club's coffers.

'Operating expenses have increased by 19 per cent compared to the previous season, from £813m to around £966m, an all-time record figure at the club,' Barcelona said in that statement.
