The Clásico is the most-watched football match of the year, and on Sunday, the eyes of the world turned to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid came away with all three points, defeating Barcelona once again after Flick’s side had managed to win all four encounters last season.
Wenger gives Alonso Clásico credit
On the pitch, Madrid proved clearly superior to their rivals. Legendary Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger analyzed the game afterwards, saying El Clásico “was a bit men against boys in some departments. For example the defensive performance of Real Madrid was much stronger than Barcelona’s. And up front, Madrid looked always like they could score one more goal, and Barcelona looked toothless.
"They had a lot of the ball in the second half... but they never looked really like scoring a goal.”
Wenger was full of praise for the Madrid side, less so for the Catalans. He also took a moment to acknowledge the work of coach Xabi Alonso, emphasizing that his project shows great promise: “Credit to Xabi Alonso – he balanced his team well,” concluded the Frenchman.

last season when barcelona was beating madrid the whole defense was injured even Rudiger was playing with injury plus the lost of toni Kroose but we never complained we accepted that barcelona was better. but for you you will never accept that madrid is better when we beat you. if you dont complained about the refree you will fine a way to ridicule madrid victory. you are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.
