Willian has landed himself in hot water with Arsenal fans after appearing to 'like' a social media post from his former club Chelsea reporting their Emirates Stadium win over the Gunners.
First half goals from debutant Romelu Lukaku and Reece James gave the Blues a comfortable 2-0 win in the London derby on Sunday, marking a contrasting start to the season with both sides.
Chelsea's convincing back-to-back wins to begin the season see them top the table, while Arsenal's two defeats mean only Norwich City have made a worse start due to goal difference.
But to rub further salt into the wound, eagle eyed supporters appeared to sport Willian having 'liked' an Instagram post from Chelsea reporting the victory, before later appearing to reverse the like.
Willian spent seven years at the Blues before leaving the club last summer on a free transfer to join the Gunners.
But the winger faded badly after a bright start under Mikel Arteta last term and is one of the players the Gunners boss is hoping to offload this summer.
The 33-year-old has not featured in any matchday squad for the Gunners this term who are desperate to sell the Brazilian who still has two years left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium
Some Arsenal supporters though have called for the club to cut their losses following the liking of the Instagram post though, with one fan simply saying: 'Terminate his contract.'
Arsenal have had mixed success with signing former Chelsea stars in recent seasons, having also picked up the club's 2012 Champions League winners Petr Cech and David Luiz.
Although both have since left the club to little fanfare, another Arsenal supporter appeared to be irate at another former Blues star in Willian referring to him as a 'double agent'.
They responded to the Instagram post by calling on the Gunners not to sign any more former Chelsea players by saying: 'Get rid of these Chelsea double agents from our club!!'
Willian's below par performances last term had already seen him lose the faith of many Gunners fans, with another adding: 'Willian liking this on Instagram? And he wonders why the Arsenal fans don’t like him…'
Predictably, Chelsea supporters saw the funny side as one fan admitted the act made the winger even more popular among Stamford Bridge supporters.
They said: 'I used to like William when he was at Chelsea but now I absolutely love him.'

Arsenal is the perfect example of failure. Rather than being outraged by Willian's liking of a Chelsea post, the fans should be outraged by their teams poor and pathetic performances. Keeping Arterta as a manager all in the name of building a project. By the time that project is done, arsenal will be playing in the championship or even worse😤😤

One thing is for sure...if an old Chelsea player should leave (eg:Hazard), their heart are still craving for return and that's why we are Blues

When Arsenal signed Willian someone said Chelsea will regret selling him to their direct rival and since then Chelsea have won the Champions League and the Uefa super cup while Arsenal couldn't make the top seven.
