Arsenal transfer round-up: Ceballos makes future call as Gunners eye German star

Arsenal have endured a difficult season despite adding some quality names in the summer.

Mikel Arteta is in the midst of his first full season in charge and signed the likes of Thomas Partey and Gabriel before the campaign got underway.

But the Gunners are in danger of missing out on European football with an evident gulf in quality between them and the league's top sides.

Arsenal are therefore going to need to invest once more with several areas of their squad needing strengthening.

Arteta is benefitting from several loan stars, such as Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard, but they may be unable to retain the players beyond this season.

Here are the latest transfer rumours from the Emirates.

Ceballos eyes La Liga future

Ceballos doesn't believe he will return for a third loan stint at the Gunners.

The Spaniard is in his second season at the Emirates but has his heart set on a La Liga return.

"I've had a bad time because I didn't have the consistency I had last year," he told  Onda Cero . "These last 5 or 6 games I've played at a good level.

"To be honest I like La Liga a lot more. The Premier League is more complete but with my style, La Liga is much better for me.

"Another loan would be difficult from both sides, for Real Madrid and for me."

Dortmund open to Brandt sale

Arsenal are looking to sign Julian Brandt this summer, according to  BILD .

The Gunners are keen on the Borussia Dortmund winger and considered a move in January.

They plan to return with a formal bid when the market opens at the end of the season with Dortmund ready to listen to offers of around £20m ($28m).

Ek lays out Gunners plans

Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek insists he is "very serious" about buying Arsenal as speculations mounts over a potential takeover.

Ek, who made his fortune as the co-founder and CEO of Spotify, threw his hat in the ring amid the fallout from the Super League plans.

The Swede, who himself is an Arsenal fan, has now come out in an interview with CNBC and laid out his vision for the club which includes reconnecting with the fans.

He said: "Arsenal is my team I love the history, I love the players. Of course I love the fans and I see a tremendous opportunity to bring the club back to its glory.

"I want to establish trust with the fans and I want to engage the fans again.

"So to answer your question I am very serious. I have secured the funding and I want to bring a very compelling offer to the owners and I hope they hear me out."
