Athletic earned hard-fought win over Osasuna 1-2 at Estadio El Sadar

Osasuna on home loss to Athletic at Estadio El Sadar on Sunday. 

Osasuna faced the encounter with a desire to add more points to their locker after a draw against Getafe (0-0) while Athletic won 2-1 the last league match against Levante. At the moment, Osasuna and Athletic occupy position 11th (19 points) and 5th (23 points) respectively after playing a total of 14 matches.

The game started favourably for Athletic, thanks to a goal from Inaki Williams in the 21st minute, which saw the first half to a 0-1.

Osasuna took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Ezequiel Ávila 76 minutes in the game. Athletic got the go-ahead goal thanks to a goal from Kenan Kodro in the 79th minute to establish the 1-2, which saw the second half to a 1-2.

At the end of the match, both teams made 3 substitutions each. For Osasuna, Marc Cardona, Adrián López and Íñigo Pérez came on for Rubén García, Juan Villar and Darko Brasanac, while Athletic brought on Kenan Kodro, Mikel San José and Iñigo Lekue to replace Raúl García, Unai López and Oihan Sancet Tirapu.

The referee booked Ezequiel Ávila, Darko Brasanac, Lillo Castellano and Rubén García from Osasuna, while for Athletic Iñigo Córdoba, Inaki Williams and Yuri Berchiche saw a yellow card as well.

Osasuna will play against Espanyol at away stadium, while Athletic will face Granada at home stadium.
