Atletico Madrid can only win from the Suarez-Costa competition

Atletico Madrid's attacking players were unleashed on Granada on Sunday.

Diego Costa, Angel Correa, Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente and Luis Suarez all got on the scoresheet in the 6-1 win.

The battle for the No.9

It seems as though Costa and Suarez will be the ones competing for a place alongside Joao Felix in the Atletico attack this season.

Both players found the net - the Uruguayan twice on his debut - against Granada to take their claims for a starting spot in midweek.

The competition for places between Suarez, Costa and whoever else is only going to be a good thing for Diego Simeone.

Correa never gives up

Even with the wealth of attacking talent at his disposal, it says a lot that Simeone still has so much faith in Correa.

The Argentine started on the right wing, setting up Costa's opener before scoring a goal for himself after the break.

Confidence is key for Joao Felix

The Portuguese forward was sensational throughout the afternoon, putting in the kind of performance Atletico bought him for.

As well as a number of cute touches on the ball, the 20-year-old scored and assisted as part of the victory.

Saul and penalties

After alternating penalty taking responsibilities with Joao Felix at the back end of last season, Saul placed the ball on the spot when the Portuguese was brought down in the box in the first half.

However, the Spaniard couldn't find the net as he had done twice at the Camp Nou in July, instead seeing his spot-kick saved by Rui Silva.

Simeone took just three minutes to show that he's left coronavirus behind him.
