Atletico Madrid have confirmed that both the squad and the training staff have come back negative in their last PCR test against COVID-19 following the news that coach Diego Simeone tested positive for the virus.
Simeone, who is currently in quarantine, was not the only member of the Atletico squad to have tested positive for the virus with another member also infected while in San Rafael which led to the postponement of the Carranza trophy which was supposed to be held on Tuesday.
The club took precautionary PCR tests after the aforementioned news and thankfully results have come back negative.
The team will start the new campaign in less than two weeks against Granada and will return to training this afternoon.
