Atletico Madrid could sign former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay to replace Chelsea-bound Joao Felix.

The LaLiga side have reportedly contacted Barcelona about signing the Dutch star on loan for the rest of the season.

Despite his impressive displays at the World Cup, the 28-year-old is not part of Xavi Hernandez's plans at the Nou Camp.

And with Diego Simeone's men temporarily set to lose Felix to Chelsea, Atleti have reportedly asked Barca about Depay's availability.

Depay endured a tough spell at Old Trafford between 2015 and 2017, scoring just seven goals in 53 appearances.

He left for Lyon before securing a switch to Barcelona in 2021.

But the Dutchman has slipped down the pecking order at the Nou Camp and has only featured four times this season.

He did start their recent Copa de Rey match with Intercity, but his last league outing was back in September.

Felix's influencer girlfriend Margarida Corceiro has confirmed on Instagram that she is flying to London with the Portuguese star ahead of his medical with Chelsea, as he prepares to join the Blues on loan until the end of the season.

Sportsmail reported yesterday that the Blues are expected to beat Manchester United and Arsenal to the loan signing of the 23-year-old forward.
