Atletico Madrid are set to sign Felipe Monteiro from FC Porto on a four-year deal on the back of an impressive campaign from the Brazilian centre-back.
Los Rojiblancos have long been keeping tabs on the defender and are ready to spend 25 million euros, which is half of the player's release clause.
The reduced price is due to the fact that Felipe is set to turn 30 years of age on 16 May and has just two years left on his deal with the Portuguese giants.
With a defensive exodus set to hit Atletico, the club have moved quickly to strengthen their backline by snapping up a centre-back with Champions League experience.
