After helping Atletico Madrid secure a 1-0 late winner against Espanyol away from home, goalscorer Baena spoke to DAZN.
The taste of victory must be sweet
I think the team's attack performed very well throughout the 90 minutes. Espanyol defended exceptionally well today and caused us problems, but the good thing about our team is that we maintained confidence until the very end. The substitutions worked well; whoever came on made an impact.
The embrace with Simeone after the goal
I saw him run over, so I said let's celebrate with the entire bench. This is a victory for the whole team.
The ability to win
We give our best in every game. That's football; in some games you're sharp, in others you're not. These victories are very important for our journey ahead.
