Atlético Madrid midfielder Alejandro Baena discussed Álvarez's recent public statement about wanting to leave the club during an interview, according to Vanguardia. He stated that he was "a little surprised" by Álvarez's remarks, but if joining Barcelona was truly the player's dream, he would support him in pursuing it.
Álvarez recently made a public statement expressing his hope that the club would approve his transfer request to realize his "dream." According to Mundo Deportivo, the Argentine forward's "dream" is to join Barcelona.
When asked if he was surprised by Álvarez's comments, Baena said: "It did surprise me a little because I didn't expect a teammate to make such a public statement. But it's his personal matter, and I understand that if that's truly his dream, he should pursue it."
Baena also mentioned that he might have handled the situation differently: "Perhaps I wouldn't express it this way; I would choose another method, but it's a personal decision. If that's truly his dream, I would tell him to go for it."
However, he also emphasized that the final decision rests with the club.
"Ultimately, the player still has to respect the club's decision. If Atlético Madrid doesn't want to sell him, he must accept that."
Baena also suggested that after the transfer window, both parties should sit down and discuss the matter.
Regarding reports that Atlético Madrid is preparing to file a complaint with FIFA over Barcelona's alleged illegal contact with Álvarez, Baena stated that he was unaware of this.
"This is the first time I've heard about this. I just found out. However, I believe every club has the right to protect its interests and rights."

Atm is just expressing it hate towards Barcelona.. Barca didn’t do any wrong for contacting a player they wish to buy. To be sure of his stance before meeting the parent club for his services. Every club does this. It’s normal.

Barcelona doesn't need free loaders. When he was at Man City, he said he wanted to go to where he can play first team football all the time. He is a hard-working guy, but his comments are creating a rift between clubs. It will seem that Barcelona is instigating him to force his exit
I love Alvarez so much we are welcome you goat
