Ryan Giggs insists Gareth Bale's Real Madrid career is far from over despite the return of Zinedine Zidane as manager.
Bale and Zidane had a frosty relationship during the Frenchman's first spell, with the Wales winger wanting more game-time.
Bale voiced this desire after scoring twice in last season's Champions League final having started on the bench, and on Tuesday Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett suggested he would 'wait and see' before deciding on his future.
Giggs believes Bale will prove doubters wrong once more, rejecting the suggestion the former Tottenham star will have to leave Real this summer.
'The cream always rises to the top,' Giggs said. 'You have to take that criticism when you are at a big club.
'It comes with the territory, whether it is just or not.'
Barnett felt compelled to speak out last week after the 29-year-old was jeered during a game, insisting Real fans should instead be 'kissing his feet' after four Champions League triumphs.
Giggs added: 'You have to block the noise out. I think he will play games. Whenever I have spoken to him he has been happy there. He wasn't playing last year and then ended up scoring one of the best goals you've ever seen in a final.
'At a big club there's always a challenge. The more you win the more desperate you are to keep winning.'
Giggs this week named Bale in his Wales squad for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia in Cardiff on March 24. First is a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago at Wrexham's Racecourse ground next Wednesday.
Wales will train at Manchester United's Carrington base before the game, due to the £4million overhaul at Wrexham's Colliers Park complex not being completed until May.
