Bale will miss Valladolid game after tests confirming sprained ankle (MARCA)

Gareth Bale will not play in Sunday's LaLiga Santander fixture against Real Valladolid, with tests confirming that the Welsh international suffered a sprained ankle in the Copa del Rey victory over Unionistas de Salamanca.

Real Madrid hope he will be available for the February 1 derby match with the sprain he has suffered considered very mild.

Injuries have plagued Bale's 2020 thus far, with the former Tottenham Hotspur forward missing the trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercopa de Espana, and then he missed the meeting with Sevilla.

He returned to action against Unionistas, scored a goal and then suffered his latest injury, and it's a worrying return to the Bale of old, who suffered a lot of physical problems.

Bale's numbers this season are far from those of a star player, he has scored only three goals, and before Wednesday he had lived 143 consecutive days without scoring, his worst streak since he arrived in the Spanish capital in September 2013.
