Barça-Madrid women's Clásico to be played at Montjuic's Olympic Stadium

FC Barcelona's women's team will make their debut at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Sunday 19 November when they tale om Real Madrid Femenino in Liga F.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, but tickets sold out more than a month in advance, according to Barça.

Therefore, Barça's temporary home until November 2024 will host the match in Liga F. The stadium already welcomed several players from the team before the match against Sevilla in a tribute for their outstanding performances at the World Cup, in which a large part of the squad took part.

It is not the first time that a Barça-Madrid women's Clásico will be played in the same stadium as the men's first team. On 30 March 2022, during the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid, Giráldez's team played the game at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The match was historic, as it set a new attendance record for a women's football match up to that point, with a total of 91,553 people in the stadium. Barcelona won that match 5-2, advancing to the semi-finals of the competition.

After several record-breaking matches at the Spotify Camp Nou and being crowned UEFA Women's Champions League winners, the Giráldez-led team will once again play at the stadium that will temporarily host the men's first team's matches until November 2024.
