Barcelona will be looking for a new manager in 2024 following Xavi Hernandez’s exit announcement.
The current head coach confirmed his plan to leave the club at the end of the season in a bold update from the 44-year-old.
After winning the La Liga title last season, Barcelona have struggled for consistency in recent months, with two cup exits at the start of 2024.
Barcelona fans have been left in shock with the speed of Xavi’s decision and the club are expected to begin their search immediately.
There is no update over whether the new manager will be revealed before Xavi leaves but one of the early favourites has indicated his willingness to take on the job.
Barca Atletic (Barcelona reserves) head coach Rafael Marquez is a possible option and the former defender is ready to answer the call if needed in 2024.
“Who wouldn’t want to be Barca coach? I will continue working hard, it’s only my second season as a coach”, as per quotes from Mundo Deportivo.
“The board will have time to think carefully between now and the end of the season. But, you can’t say no to an opportunity like this!”
Marquez led the Barcelona reserve team to a fourth place finish in his debut campaign in charge in 2022/23 where they lost out to Real Madrid Castilla in the promotion playoffs.

Don’t leave please cos the Real Madrid players and the club in general would have to miss your motivational talks against them

hahaha Barcelona, only one match has made all the fans mad. The solution is to give up the tiki taka style. It was a perfect style by the past but today the modern coaches have worked hard on it and have already known its weakness I'm Madrid fan but Barcelona have to change their game style

I'm not gonna lie. Garcia pimienta was the coach to lead us before appointing Xavi. Also why did we selll Kessie? He was such a great player. If we need the money then I understand but from a sporting aspect that was a blunder. He was a luxury to have.

Trolling aside, i think Xavi is a good manager. Just that this season his players are not clicking as a unit.

Barcelona need a caliber of coach like J. Klopp not Rafa Marquez. Klopp can transform Barcelona to her former glories.

i would love to see the Barcelona team again, the last three managers didn't impress at all,am also a Barcelona fan, xavi has tried his best but thats not enough, starting from the style of play , selection of players and team management, the team doesn't look motivated, failing to manage the team of players like lewandoski,Gundogan and de jong.

I don't understand what Barcelona fans and their board want from Xavi, do you expect him to be winning la Liga trophy every season when you have real Madrid and athletico Madrid in the same league?. do you want him to win UCL trophy with all these free agent and academy kids as regular in the first 11?. how many coaches(not even guadiola) do you think he can manage this current Barcelona club with €4m transfer budget when you can manage to buy average player for £50m?. do you expect Xavi to perform miracle when injury have robbed the team some key players that was solid in conquest to last season trophies?. Barcelona was 9th in table when you people begged xavi to come over, the with free transfer players and academy kids he moved Barcelona to 2nd in table,in his first full season,he beat mighty Madrid to win la Liga and Spanish super cup, this his 2nd full season when every clubs (including Barcelona) is highly hit by injuries, Madrid have a great squad depth compare to Barcelona. Xavi deserve respect and time,he decided to step down because you people always demand for his head anytime those useless kids let him down. HALA MADRID 💪💪

Thank God Xavi won us the league Cup last season, so he leaves with his head high. But truth be told he has proven he's not a world class coach yet; starting a new season without a left winger (pushed Abde and Fati out, we disposed of Aubamiyang who had proven to be more dynamic than static Lewandowski and yet he continues to ignore Marc Giui no matter how badly Lewandowski is playing. then our style of play is so static, sluggish, and predictable. Again Xavi demonstrates his stubbornness by playing Pedri constantly in recent matches even though he's just returning from injury and not yet fit. This means Pedri can't give us 100% yet and he stands a crazy chance of relapsing into injury. Same thing happened with Fati, now Balde too is injured because he wasn't being given chances to rest, if care is not taken we will soon have an injured Yamal because he's playing too many games at just 16 years of age. We wish luck in your future Xavi. we still love you as a cule
