You receive a standing ovation when taken off in the 75th minute. Many don't even understand why you were taken off because you were doing well. But it happens. And then you disappear off the map. Not one minute in the next five games.
Looking at that, it seems unfair what's happened with Malcom. The Brazilian is appearing very, very infrequently under Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde. There have been two moments throughout the season (the goals against Inter and Real Madrid). But the curious thing is that Valverde bet on him for the Clasico against Real Madrid at Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey semifinal first leg.
No one expected him to start that game. Valverde showed faith in him and, as we explained, the kid responded. He got the better of Marcelo time and again and was Barça's most creative player in attack. Lucas Vazquez opened the scoring for Madrid but Malcom levelled. But in the 75th minute, he was removed and he's not played one of the 450 minutes in games against Athletic, Valladolid, Lyon, Sevilla and Real Madrid (again) since.
It's true that Messi was slightly injured after the game against Valencia and Dembele was still out. But, without a doubt, the former Bordeaux forward has been forgotten. Valverde is ruining his career because he was a signing from the board, not but valverde himself, which is why he chooses to play people like Boateng instead. i mean, who in their right mind would play Boateng over Malcom? for thise saying KP boateng is a striker malcom is not, actually, KP boateng played as a midfielder for most of his career before recently switching to Striker, and malcom can play all of the forward positions. i lay the blame solely on valverde on this one, he is ruining one potential career

Personally I feel no harm. The kid can wait for time being and he will be given the times he deserves. He is fishing out skills confidence even being onlooker. The aged stars will soon make way for him no doubt. So Valvarde is doing a better job even keeping him on the active bench. Yes coutinho is a big question after the amount of chances the star had been given to prove himself

I still can’t believe how he’a treated. You can’t just obviosuly march into starting 11 but there are definitely minutesfor him. Ugh, I just don’t like Valverde. He’s punching and has always been. When we sadly fall out of CL this year, maybe we can finally make the switch despite that new contract.
