Julio Pleguezuelo, Javier Espinosa and Aitor Cantalapiedra are among the former Blaugrana youth graduates already at the Dutch club.
In February 2018, Busquests sustained a serious knee injury in a training session, tearing the meniscus in a fashion similar to fellow youth graduate Rafinha one year earlier.

When Barcelona had a style of play we never needed to loan our youngsters to gain experience because they needed to stay at Barcelona B to learn the Barcelona way of playing. That time it was very easy for youngsters to play with the first team because it was the same style and formation but now the first team play like Atletico Madrid while youth teams play kick and rush no more understanding. If this people will swallow their pride and go back to how Barcelona was before it will help the team and save money instead of buying overrated prima donnas every year. This season we are loaning out almost all the good players in Barcelona B instead of slowing bringing them up to first team.
