Barcelona and PSG yet to find solution over Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona still hope to place Ousmane Dembele with another club before the transfer deadline, however there is still yet to be a solution involving the Catalan club and Paris Saint-Germain.

There is a feeling that the transfer of the French international is beginning to look impossible, especially with PSG, after both clubs have been negotiating since Saturday afternoon.

An agreement hasn't been found and negotiations have now stalled, although PSG still have the option of securing Dembele to a pre-contract agreement to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.

Yet, the problem in this deal has been PSG's Financial Fair Play situation, with the Ligue 1 club needing to sell some players in order for any operation involving Dembele to go through.

Los Cules initially demanded 20 million euros for a transfer, which the French club weren't prepared to pay, simply because it was too high.

Player exchanges

During negotiations between both clubs, several names were put on the table for a swap deal, Mauro Icardi was one such individual, whilst Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler were both offered.

Barcelona actually liked the idea of Di Maria, but his salary was way out of reach for them given their perilous financial situation.

As operations broken down involving PSG, Barcelona looked to place Dembele with a Premier League club, but that wasn't successful either, and the player has even returned to Spain with everything indicating that he will see out the rest of the season with the Blaugrana.
