Barcelona are likely to have to make sales this summer, in spite of President Joan Laporta’s affirmations that they do not need to. One of the key areas where they can sell without weakening the side too much is in central defence.
Ronald Araujo has been spoken about as the most likely to leave of the players currently at the club, while Mikayil Faye could also be on his way out. Meanwhile, MD are reporting that Andreas Christensen would consider leaving the club if he was told that he is not part of their plans next season. Having arrived on a free, Barcelona could make significant money on Christensen. He is happy in Barcelona and has no plans to leave, but merely if they did take that step.
The 28-year-old is perhaps unlikely to see that happen. Christensen stepped into midfield last season, while maintaining his good performance at the back. It was a significant improvement for Barcelona, and with uncertainty on who will come into the deep-lying midfield role, it seems unlikely Barcelona would move him on without a replacement lined up.

🚨 Ancelotti is the only coach in history to have coached four different Ballon d'Or winners in different seasons. A fifth might be on the way with Vinícius Jr. or Bellingham climbing to the top of the Ballon d'Or rankings. They call him Don Carlo for a reason
