According to Sport, Barcelona's 16-year-old academy midfielder Ebrima Tuncara has impressed in pre-season preparations, surprising head coach Flick and the first-team players.
Tuncara has all the potential to become a new star for Barcelona, and may even emerge sooner than expected. Flick did not hesitate to include this Spanish midfielder of Gambian descent in the large academy roster training with the first team for pre-season. He is the youngest player in the entire team, and the only one born after 2010, but his physique, technical ability, and explosive power are all impressive. His teammates in Barcelona's competitive and youth teams already know his ability, but many first-team players who had not trained with him for extended periods before have been surprised. Tuncara himself remains clear-headed, knowing that the road ahead is long, and he should ideally be playing in the youth teams this season, but anything is possible.
In Barcelona's 4-1 victory over Europa in their first pre-season match last Friday, Tuncara already left his mark. Although for Barcelona, this match was not even considered a formal warm-up, it was very significant for the academy players, and no one wanted to miss the opportunity, especially Tuncara.
The young academy player became one of Barcelona's goalscorers. After receiving a pass from Gonzalez, he finished incredibly under defensive pressure, scoring the team's third goal. He had only been on the field for 3 minutes as a substitute – Flick had changed the entire lineup after halftime. This goal also confirmed the impact he had already shown in previous training sessions.
Barcelona is about to embark on an overseas tour, and German coach Flick plans to retain the core squad that has been with him since the first day of pre-season. Currently, the team has injured players (R. Araujo, Balde, and Fermín), Ter Stegen is about to be loaned to Ajax, and Raphinha is expected to join after the England tour begins, while the remaining players who participated in the World Cup (all Spanish internationals, Kounde, and Gavi) are still on vacation.
In any case, Flick will keep Tuncara firmly on his radar. He still has much to learn, but his talent is outstanding. As the next talent from La Masia academy, he is bound to continue attracting attention.

Good Luck to him. He's got a promising future though. May all he touches becomes gold.
