Barcelona gave 16-year-old Ansu Fati a first-team debut against Real Betis last weekend and, hot on the heels of that, the Blaugrana now seem set to sign another 16-year-old prodigy as they are in advanced talks with Las Palmas for Pedro Gonzalez Lopez, who goes by 'Pedri'.
The youngster's departure from Las Palmas could help the club's delicate economic situation, and while his release clause is 30 million euros, the Canary Islanders would be willing to sell for a fee around six million euros.
Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez stated that Pedri could be one of the players to depart the Estadio Gran Canaria, particularly as they look to resolve their finances.
"We have offers for Pedri and now we're weighing up whether or not now is the time to sell," Ramirez said.
"Now is the time to prioritise economic control."
Barcelona have already reached an agreement with Pedri, so the only thing missing is for the Catalans to agree a fee with Las Palmas.
