Barcelona inquire about Leão's exit conditions; Milan willing to sell for €60 million

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona has inquired about Leão's departure conditions, though he is not currently their primary transfer target.

For some time, Leão was nearly an obsession for Barcelona. The Portuguese winger was highly coveted by Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who kept Leão on his transfer list during attempts to sign Nico Williams over the previous two summer windows.

While Barcelona has since shifted focus to other players, Leão remains under consideration as a potential market opportunity. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Barcelona has inquired about the winger's availability, joining Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and several Saudi clubs in doing so. However, no concrete progress has been made.

Leão could emerge as a bargain opportunity in this summer's transfer market. With Rúben Amorim taking over as Milan's head coach, the club will likely need to sell him, potentially at a reduced price. Amorim's system relies on "false wingers," for which Leão is unsuited—a situation that has been communicated to the player. Milan is willing to sell Leão for €60 million or less, with everything negotiable.

Two summers ago, when Barcelona pursued Leão, Milan demanded his €150 million release clause be triggered. At that time, Leão was Milan's marquee player, but inconsistent coaching decisions over the past two seasons have diminished his standing within the club's plans.

Leão is currently showcasing himself at the World Cup as a regular starter under Roberto Martínez.

At Barcelona, Leão is far from a priority. The left flank is already covered by Anthony Gordon, and Barcelona's primary focus is signing a top-tier striker, with Julián Álvarez as their main—and almost sole—target. Barcelona's attacking options may shift if Álvarez cannot leave Atlético Madrid.

Leão has previously signaled his willingness to join Barcelona and is keen on the move. However, the conditions for a deal to materialize have never truly materialized. While Jorge Mendes is not Leão's agent, he maintains considerable influence over both the player and Milan and has repeatedly recommended Leão to Barcelona. To date, talks have not progressed.
