According to Spanish media Què T'hi Jugues, Barcelona is considering appealing to UEFA regarding Pubill's handball.

When talking about Pubill's handball, the media said, the rules are clear and definite, but the referee did not blow the whistle, and VAR did not intervene. All of this has made Barcelona furious, and the team is considering making a formal appeal to UEFA regarding the Romanian referee István Kovács's decision, while the VAR was overseen by the German Christian Dingert at the time.

Barcelona will have to face the derby next, and then the second leg of the quarter-finals at the Metropolitano Stadium. The Blaugrana hope to "forget" all the unpleasantness of the first leg as soon as possible, as this match has caused strong dissatisfaction among fans. Flick himself also strongly criticized VAR for not reviewing Pubill's handball in the penalty area.
