Barcelona no closer to knowing whether they will be signing Nico Williams

Barcelona are continuing to hold onto hope in their bid to sign Nico Williams this summer. Club officials are starting to lose faith, with many now believing that the 22-year-old winger will continue at Athletic Club for at least one more season. However, no decision has been officially communicated at this stage, meaning that there is still a chance for the Catalans.

In the last couple of days, Williams returned home to Bilbao, thus ending his holidays prematurely. Because of this, there is an expectation that there will be imminent communication on the matter – for Barcelona and Athletic, this is still not the case, as they remain completely unaware of the Euro 2024 winner’s intentions, as per Jijantes (via Sport).

Athletic Club are convinced that Williams will continue, and it’s expected that they and Barcelona will be notified of the player’s intentions in the coming days. Both clubs continue to put in the work to secure their ideal outcome.
