Martin Braithwaite has sensationally demanded to be paid the entirety of the remainder of his salary for him to agree to a termination of his contract at Barcelona.
Braithwaite has found himself frozen out at the Nou Camp, and was not even selected to join Barcelona's pre-season tour of the US, as the club attempts to offload the forward amidst ongoing financial difficulties.
According to a report from Marca via Football Espana, Braithwaite's agents have demanded a payout of over £4million before any termination deal can be agreed, while Barcelona are currently only willing to pay half of that figure.
La Liga side Mallorca are reportedly interested in signing Braithwaite, but the Dane's wage demands are currently too high for any agreement to be reached.
There is also said to be interest in the forward from a number of Saudi Arabian clubs that would be willing to pay his wages, although these deals would be contingent on a termination agreement being reached to allow the player to move on a free transfer.
The Danish forward first came to the attention of the Catalan giants after he enjoyed a successful spell in La Liga with Leganes.
However, his move £16million to the Nou Camp in February 2020 came as a shock to many in the footballing world as only one year previously Braithwaite had been playing for Middlesbrough in the Championship.
Despite winning the Copa del Rey in 2021, Braithwaite has largely found himself on the fringes of the first-team squad at the Blaugrana, and was restricted to just five appearances in all competitions last season.
A move that will allow Braithwaite more playing time is said to be a must if the player is set to feature for Denmark in the 2022 Qatar World Cup later this year.
