Lionel Messi scored a sensational brace in Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Wednesday evening, and the club's official Twitter account responded in jest to UEFA's request for Matchday MVP suggestions.
Whilst it seemed obvious that that the Argentine should be handed the award, fans were given the opportunity to select the MVP from both semi-final matches.
The selection was cut down to four players: Donny van de Beek, Frenkie de Jong, Luis Suarez and Messi himself.
"Come on, Champions League... are you serious?" Barcelona's Twitter account responded.

this year there shouldn't be any voting for any award because no one come close to Messi and he deserves every award this year without voting
