Barça’s delegates, and, in fact, all of the club’s members, had to wait until 5:30 p.m. to receive first-hand information about the next milestones for the new Spotify Camp Nou.Elena Fort, the club’s vice president for social affairs, made the first announcement: due to construction delays, the new Spotify Camp Nou, with a final capacity of about 104,000 seats, will not be completed until December 2027.

“We’ll have the best stadium in the world. It’s no longer a dream. It’s here, and soon we’ll be able to enjoy it. It will also be the safest stadium in the world,” Fort said proudly.“We’re coming home,” added sporting vice president Rafael Yuste a few minutes later.

Fort explained that the third tier will be built during the 2026-27 season, and the roof will be finished between the summer and Christmas of 2027.Before that, however, the team must return to the Camp Nou.

The club did not give an exact date — only capacity figures. The first return, which could theoretically happen by the end of November 2025, would see 45,401 seats available. For that to happen, Barça must receive approval for Phase 1B, which includes the Gol Sud, the main stand (Tribuna), and the lateral stand.

The club hopes, however, that by the end of the year 62,518 fans will be able to attend games — meaning that work on the first two tiers, including the Gol Nord and VIP areas, would be complete.

Gol 1957: a new home for the fans

The other major announcement from Fort was the naming of the new Espai d’Animació, the supporters’ section that will be located in the Gol Sud (visiting fans will move to the Gol Nord). It will be called Gol 1957, a nod to the year the original Camp Nou was inaugurated — a structure that has been preserved in the reconstruction of the first two tiers.

Gol 1957 was born out of extensive consultation, including surveys of 2,029 members and 16 working sessions attended in person by 330 Barça fans.

“We can be proud,” said Fort. “It’s a complex stadium, but we’re making history. It’s a venue that future generations will enjoy, and it will be our pride.”

She also emphasized that “the club’s social spirit will ensure that season-ticket holders can return to their same seats — or, at least, to their place in essence.”

For now, though, the club will be working on the project until 2028.
