According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's preparations for the new season suffered a setback this weekend, as their next scheduled friendly match has been cancelled.
Flick's team made their first appearance in front of an audience during the summer training camp last Friday. After Barcelona traveled to England for their pre-season training camp, they ultimately lost to Birmingham City in a penalty shootout.
They had planned to play another friendly on Monday against Birmingham's Championship counterparts, Preston North End.
However, the day before the match, Flick and the coaching staff were informed that the game would not proceed as planned. According to Mundo Deportivo: "The match has been cancelled because Barcelona's opponents have several players unavailable and would have otherwise had to field a large squad of U21 players."
As a result, Barcelona will hold an unscheduled training session on Monday.
