Josep Maria Bartomeu has condemned recent events in Catalonia, saying that violence is not the answer to the problems.
"A week ago, we said that prison is not the solution," he said, "and today I want to say that violence isn't either.
"I'd like to praise those who have demonstrated peaceful and civilly.
"I strongly condemn the violent acts we've suffered in Catalonia."
