Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to make an exception in their club policy by offering Robert Lewandowski a new two-year contract.
The 33-year-old striker has scored 23 goals in 19 Bundesliga games this season but will have just a year left on his deal at the end of the current campaign.
The current German champions have a one-year contract extension policy for players over the age of 30, but BILD via MARCA claim they are willing to make an exception for the Poland marksman.
The report claims Bayern are willing to offer Lewandowski a two-year deal, however that agreement will see his reported £369,000-per-week wages slashed by an unconfirmed amount.
The Bavarian outfit have also put a one-year extension on the same salary on the table too, but should the former Borussia Dortmund striker reject both proposals, the report adds they will then consider selling him.
The news comes just days after Lewandowski was crowned FIFA's Best Men's Player of the Year, pipping PSG's Lionel Messi and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to the award.
The report adds Bayern chiefs, including chief executive Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, are hopeful the situation will be resolved soon but will target Erling Haaland should Lewandowski leave.
Haaland is expected to leave Bundesliga rivals Dortmund in the summer when his £64million release clause becomes active.
Lewandowski however avoided commenting on his future after collecting his prize at The Best FIFA gala.
'When you show your performance on the pitch, it doesn't matter whether you play in team A, B or C,' he said.
'I can't think too much about speculation about other clubs or a new contract.
'In the end, I have to stay focused and do my best. That's always first on my mind. I'm an experienced player and hide everything else. There is still enough time. I stay patient and calm and don't stress.'

A two year extension is a good deal. Atleast he'll be competing in a top flight league till 35-36. Also changing clubs at such a later age can also have impact in the performance. I believe staying at Bayern Munich will be best for him given his form and team chemistry.
