Bayern sporting director: Goretzka's time at Bayern will be over in the summer

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund (48) announced on Friday that Leon Goretzka (30) will remain with the Bayern until the end of the season despite intensive negotiations about a possible winter move to Atlético Madrid and will then leave the club on a free transfer after his contract expires in the summer.

The Austrian said the day before Bayern Munich's Bundesliga match against Hamburger SV: "Leon has decided to stay with FC Bayern Munich."

And further: "We can now also say that Leon Goretzka's time at FC Bayern Munich will be over in the summer. He will go another way after 8 successful years. We'll fight together in coming months to achieve big things."
