javi was/is the only CDM and is at his peak to start declining. Renato had that in him too but I saw him more attacking midfielder/ball controller. I don't get why CDM is a must at this point when Bayern just shopped for CB. they speak highly of attacking and they got Coutinho/Perisic. we missing one more in that area but they making this reason move cause of Renato attitude. so Roca been in Bayern's eyes for a while to fit I believe JaviCDM-RenatoCM. a versatile player. players get benched cause Coaches go for mismatches. so if they need speed they not putting a slower player. if they need defense more they not attacking at full throttle. it all depends.. vs Schalke they'll need bullies on the field. Niko obviously did not see his full potential cause of 1. the 2nd voices of the club (assistants) whispering in his ear 2. he's just plain clueless when and how to figure things out on his own. Niko 2nd year, almost lost 1st tier title. is obvious he don't go well with youth. his development skills are not quite there. so... this move I dislike by Bayern and Renato frustration/ no self control got him the boot. in the end this Roca dude needs to fill in them new shoes instantly. cause you mentioned "experimentation" well dude.. Bayern once again will have to experiment with a new player instead of a old one. better to know the devil you know then deal with a new devil.
