David Beckham was heard offering Trent Alexander-Arnold some crucial advice from his time playing under Sir Alex Ferguson during his recent visit to England's World Cup base.
Beckham, the former Three Lions captain who earned 115 caps for his country, was welcomed into Gareth Southgate's camp for the day ahead of their last-16 victory over Senegal at the weekend.
A number of England stars stopped for a quick chat with him, while an incredibly-polite Bukayo Saka even asked for a picture, and Trent also received a few words of advice from the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid star.
In a video posted on Alexander-Arnold's Instagram, the pair were locked in conversation over the art of set-piece taking, and Beckham opened up on how Ferguson ensured he maintained a robot-like technique throughout his time at Old Trafford.
'The moment he saw me off a little bit with either my run-up or the smoothness of me kicking it, he pulled me back in,' he said of the legendary former United boss.
'He knew exactly what I was doing wrong. I just kept doing the same thing over and over again, I never changed [my technique].'
When asked if he had a preferred side to place the ball, Beckham continued: 'Not really. I scored one against Jamo [David James] at Anfield where I just whipped it over the wall and went the other side. To be fair, I liked both sides.'
Trent has proven himself as one of the Premier League's finest crossers of a ball in recent years, registering 45 assists in his 175 appearances for Liverpool.
The 24-year-old is also more than capable of bending home a long-range free-kick, and Beckham stressed the importance of repetition when it comes to practise.
'Continuous... it's important. So important,' he added.
'You're obviously doing it [well], so just keep doing whatever you're doing because you can cross a ball.'
