Chelsea news as Behdad Eghbali sees his net worth shoot up as Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital prepare to take their next steps with the club after taking over from Roman Abramovich

Behdad Eghbali's net worth has shot up over the past few years as the Clearlake Capital co-owner prepares to make the next move at Chelsea.
Eghbali, who co-founded Clearlake in 2006, is Todd Boehly's right-hand man at Stamford Bridge after their takeover of the Blues last year. More than £600 million has been spent on transfers by the new owners and Graham Potter was hired to replace Thomas Tuchel in a period of change in West London.
After a rocky start, Potter's Blues have found form and have ignited a challenge to finish in the Premier League's top four. There is every chance of a run to the late stages of the Champions League, too, with a mouth-watering quarter-final against Real Madrid coming up.
Eghbali, meanwhile, is primed for ownership of the Blues having seen his net worth rocket over the past few years. Forbes currently estimate that his total net worth is $4.3 billion, a $1.1bn rise on last year.
Indeed, Eghbali has more than doubled his net worth from 2020 when it stood at $2bn. Egbali, based in California, started Clearlake Capital with Jose Feliciano and manages more than $70bn in assets.
The firm has developed a reputation for success in private equity and will be hoping for a return on its investment in Chelsea. "We thought Chelsea (was) frankly an asset, a business that was not terribly well managed on the football side, sporting side or promotional side," Eghbali said recently.
Boehly and Eghbali are looking to increase Chelsea's revenues and have plans for a multi-club model, which could be about to take off with reports claiming French side Strasbourg are being eyed by the pair. Chelsea's owners are also keeping a close eye on Premier League broadcast rights with streaming services reportedly keen to enter the market.

Does this guy know what he is talking about? We wouldn’t have won all those football trophies if the football & sporting side was not “terribly well managed”!!😢
