Real Madrid's record-breaking move for Luka Jovic has benefitted his former club Benfica to the tune of £20million.
The Spanish giants announced on Tuesday that they had sealed a £62m deal to sign Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt on a six-year contract.
But according to Portuguese newspaper Record, the Bundesliga outfit will only pocket 70 per cent of that fee, with the rest going to Benfica.
Frankfurt inserted a clause to buy Jovic permanently for just £5.5m when they signed him on a two-year loan deal back in 2017.
The German club exercised their right to sign him earlier this year after watching him develop into one of Europe's hottest young forwards.
However, Benfica also included a sell-on clause in the agreement, giving them 30 per cent of his next transfer fee.
That money, plus the £5.5m Frankfurt paid to sign Jovic, means the Portuguese champions have pocketed around £20m for a player who made just four appearances for them.
The 21-year-old made two appearances in both 2015-16 and 2016-17, but did not start a single league game for the Eagles.
Jovic netted 27 goals in all competitions last term, attracting interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich before Real completed their swoop.
