David Bettoni once again had to conduct Real Madrid's pre-match press conference in the absence of Zinedine Zidane, who is still recovering from COVID-19, and he made clear that he is not worried about the reports regarding Sergio Ramos.
Thursday night saw the popular TV show El Chiringuito report that Real Madrid now expect Ramos to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30, as he has not accepted their offer. Yet, Bettoni is not worried.
"I see Sergio every day. I am not worried about his renewal," Bettoni said during Friday's pre-match press conference.
"Nothing worries us. I can't say any more.
"He is in the process of recovery [from an injury he has]. Every week he will be better. Now we are lucky to have only one game a week.
"I see the Sergio I have known for five years. He is a great professional and no one can doubt that. Sergio seems the same as usual, he doesn't seem any different."
Luka Jovic admitted during his presentation at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has returned on a six-month loan deal from Real Madrid, that language issues with Zidane did not help him acclimatise to life in the Spanish capital, but Bettoni doesn't think there were any issues in this regard.
"We always have an easy way to talk to the players; the language of football is simple," he noted.
"I don't think we had any problems with that."
There will be no Dani Carvajal for Los Blancos' match against Levante this weekend, despite it having seemed as though the right-back had recovered from a knock.
"It's discomfort, it's not serious," Bettoni confirmed.
"But we don't want to take any risks and after talking to the doctors we have decided to [rest Carvajal] for a few days."
Real Madrid find themselves seven points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand over the second-placed Los Blancos, yet Bettoni emphasised the need to think on a game-by-game basis.
"If Atletico are in first place, it's because they deserve it due to their consistency," he noted
"But there is still a long way to go in LaLiga. We're only thinking about the next game, not about our rivals [for the title]."
Zidane continues to be away from the Real Madrid squad and coaching team, but his assistant revealed that they are in regular contact.
"Zidane is getting better every day and he's with us, because we prepare the training sessions, we discuss them..." Bettoni explained
"It's true that he's not physically with us and it's a pity, because of his personality, his charisma...
"As for the absentees, we're not going to take any risks."

Oh Ramos is our legend but if he said he want to leave we have nothing to do at the same time we can't force him to stay so Bettoni is right to say that
