Blackburn 2-1 West Brom: Rovers maintain perfect start to the season as Ben Brereton Diaz shines

Blackburn continued their perfect start to the season as they battled to a win over West Brom this afternoon.

Goals from Ben Brereton DIaz and Sam Gallagher either side of half time ensured Jon Dahl Tomasson's side returned to the top of the Championship table with nine points from a possible nine, with Rovers looking to push for promotion to the Premier League after a disappointing end to last season.

But it wasn't all plane sailing for the hosts at Ewood Park, with Rovers managing just two shots on target in the game.

Last season's top scorer Brereton Diaz needed just one chance to curl into the corner however, before setting up Sam Gallagher for the side's second.

Grady Diangana did halve the deficit just before the hour for West Brom, but Rovers saw out the game to ensure they moved back to the top of the of the league.

West Brom, meanwhile, are struggling under Steve Bruce, with just two points from their first three games.
