Leonardo Bonucci has “always accepted whistles” but is “annoyed” that he was jeered when playing for Italy.
The Juventus centre-back left Milan after just one season to return to Turin, enraging the Rossoneri faithful and, indeed, many Juve fans.
During the Nations League draw with Portugal on Saturday night the defender was whistled by a section of the San Siro crowd, and he came out fighting in today’s Press conference.
“I’ve always accepted whistles, but those I received wearing the national team shirt annoyed me,” Bonucci confessed, sitting alongside Roberto Mancini.
“In that case we’re all part of the same team, you need to be good at distinguishing from the club game, which is a separate thing.
“I’ve never taken certain things to heart, not even when my family has been brought up. But I don’t like being whistled when I’m representing 60 million people.
“I thank those who were behind me and look forward.”

Did he have a good impact on the game? Didn't watch it but I saw he came off the bench.

Wait I just realised Politano on the bench, how do you not bring him on instead of Berardi?

As much as I like to root for the underdog, Italy made it very difficult

As an Italian, I have no respect for that over rated this man.

Seems pretty fair to boo him. If someone used my club as pawn in his lover's quarrell I'd be pissed too.

Remember when he was too scared to play against us last game so he told Allegri to bench him

Booing a player who left for a rival is normal. They aren't idiots at all. That's what happens.
