Camavinga listed for sale but determined to stay at Real Madrid

According to Diario Sport, Real Madrid has made Camavinga available for transfer, but the player is unwilling to leave.

Camavinga joined Real Madrid in summer 2021 at age 18 as one of Europe's most promising midfielders. However, those expectations have since cooled. After completing his fifth season, the club—influenced by José Mourinho's assessment—has listed him as available for transfer.

Mourinho has taken an active role in strengthening a squad that has underperformed for two consecutive seasons. Due to inconsistent form, Camavinga has fallen out of the manager's plans. While possessing undeniable talent, his inconsistency and frequent defensive lapses have prompted Real Madrid to sell him and reinvest the proceeds.

At 23, Real Madrid is targeting more experienced midfielders such as the confirmed signing Bernardo Silva and target Enzo Fernández. To accommodate these arrivals, the club must offload players including Camavinga. Several clubs have already expressed interest.

Paris Saint-Germain heads the list of suitors. The French champions previously competed with Real Madrid for Camavinga's signature during his Rennes days and remain interested, especially now that relations between the clubs have improved. PSG believes a return to Ligue 1 could help him regain his form.

Manchester United, Juventus, Chelsea, and Liverpool have also inquired about Camavinga. His contract runs until 2029, and Real Madrid originally paid Rennes €31 million plus €9 million in add-ons, including a €1 billion release clause. However, since 2024, Camavinga's market value has halved from €100 million to €50 million.

Real Madrid is asking €60 million and hopes to spark a bidding war this summer. However, selling Camavinga will prove difficult—not due to lack of interest, but because the player himself is unwilling to leave. Those close to him insist he has no intention of departing and believes he can overcome current challenges at the club.
