The Catalan Football Federation has initiated preparations for the new season, unveiling a revamped structure for its youth representative teams. Under the leadership of Israel López as technical director and Oriol Vila as coordinator, players have already begun training at the Olímpia Sports Center in Sabadell, marking the official launch of a program designed to strengthen the federation's youth development efforts.
One of the most notable changes in the new structure is the appointment of Miquel Olmo as U16 technical director. The father of Spanish international Dani Olmo brings extensive coaching experience and strong tactical vision to the role, expected to enhance this junior team significantly. Rafa Beltrán will lead the U14 team, while Martí Alba continues as U12 coach.
Jordi Masip, Goalkeeping Coach
Another key addition to the technical team is former professional goalkeeper Jordi Masip, who joins as head of goalkeeping for all age categories, both male and female. The former Barcelona and Real Valladolid goalkeeper brings valuable top-level experience to young goalkeepers and will strengthen this critical position in the federation's talent development pipeline.
In women's football, Ana Ponce continues as U16 coach, Sara Las Heras takes charge of the U14 team, and Laura Díaz leads the U12 team. The technical structure is further supported by analysts led by Carles Martínez and Lluís Silva, physical trainers Dani de Paco and Núria Rius, and a medical team headed by Dr. Toni Trumalias. The Catalan Football Federation is strengthening its technical capabilities as it heads into the new season.
