Ceballos frustrated as he entered the pitch against Alcoyano

There were only four minutes to go until the end of Real Madrid's Copa del Rey clash with Alcoyano when Dani Ceballos finally got onto the pitch, yet the midfielder entered in a very frustrated manner after being forced to wait on the sideline for his substitution to be completed.

He had warmed up on the touchline for a while, knowing that the time was ticking on his entrance into the match, and this is why he showed gestures of anger as he waited for Carlo Ancelotti to make the change.

Golazo de Gol captured pictures of the midfielder talking to Ancelotti and Chendo, before making the exasperated hand gestures, but the Italian coach encouraged him to wait a little longer.

This behaviour is unsurprising when you consider the fact that the former Arsenal midfielder has been waiting for this moment for a long time.

He suffered an injury on July 22 in the opening match of the Tokyo Olympics, and has had to work hard to get fit enough to return almost seven months later.

Ancelotti has previously praised the work of the player to rebuild his fitness, and he is understood to have shown an incredible level of professionalism in training.

The Italian coach believes firmly that the player can contribute to Los Blancos' campaign this term, and will be helpful in the club's pursuit of titles, especially once the Champions League returns and squad rotation becomes necessary once again.

Ceballos' anger wasn't directed at Ancelotti, but merely the situation, he is desperate to get back playing football and desperate to get back playing football for Real Madrid.
