Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel warns stars over their Euro 2020 dreams

Thomas Tuchel says he is not concerned about wrecking the Euro dreams of his Chelsea players this summer.

England striker Tammy Abraham has become the latest Blues star to fall out of favour with the Chelsea manager and was left out of the squad for Monday's 2-0 win over Everton.

However, Tuchel remains indifferent regarding the plight of his players fighting to get into their national squads, despite Euro 2020 being just three months away.

'I know well that the players have personal interests and this is OK' Tuchel said. 'I hope they fight for their personal interests. I really hope they give out their very best.

'Their personal interest is to be on the pitch for Chelsea and hopefully be on the pitch for their national team. That shows their ambition and quality.

'In my job as manager of Chelsea I cannot be influenced by a decision that has an impact on the national coach's decision or a player's future with his national team.

'To be honest, I'd like to play them here, then they can all stay with me during the summer. Relax on their vacations and then come for pre-season.

'That would be my personal choice but this will not happen. I am aware of it, but not in the way that can influence my choice.

'My choices are made to win games with Chelsea and nothing else.'

Abraham is one of a quartet of England hopefuls - with Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Reece James the others - who ply their trade at Stamford Bridge, while the Blues also have an array of foreign internationals vying for places at this summer's delayed European Championships.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League, just two points clear of West Ham who have a game in hand.

They travel to Elland Road to face Leeds on Saturday lunchtime.
