Chelsea transfer news: Catch all the biggest Chelsea transfer headlines including updates on Moises Caicedo, Michael Olise and Axel Disasi
Caicedo meeting
Unfortunately, that is proving to be the main issue despite Brighton being aware of Caicedo's desire to join Chelsea. The midfielder has featured for Brighton in pre-season with a transfer meeting held between his representatives and Brighton over the weekend, according to The Times.
The results of that meeting have now been revealed with Di Marzio's Nathan Gissing reporting that Brighton made it clear once again this time to Caicedo and his entourage directly they are refusing to budge on their £100million asking price.
Olise updates
Manchester City could have handed Chelsea a boost by setting a fresh Michael Olise transfer stance. Both clubs are interested in signing the talented French winger as they seek to bolster the creativity in their ranks.
For Pep Guardiola, it is about finding a replacement for Riyad Mahrez although, according to The Athletic, Man City have no intention of spending more than £50million to sign Olise which is unlikely to be enough for Crystal Palace to sanction an exit.
However, the latest admission from manager Roy Hodgson certainly gives both clubs optimism they can sign Olise ahead of the 2023/24 season. As quoted by Chris Wheatley, in a press conference on Tuesday, he said: “Clubs are circling around him and we are going to have a fight on our hands to make sure he stays with us.”
Disasi passes medical
Axel Disasi has passed his medical in London on Tuesday to complete a transfer to Chelsea from Monaco, according to French outlet L'Equipe.
The France international is expected to become the tenth confirmed arrival of the summer with Lesley Ugochukwu's permanent move from Rennes announced on Tuesday. Chelsea will pay £38million to AS Monaco for Disasi having beat off interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle to secure his signature.
Disasi will arrive as the replacement for his fellow countrymen Wesley Fofana after it was revealed he had ruptured his ACL and required surgery to fix the problem. Disasi has only missed two games in his entire senior career through injury with that absence coming in the 2021/22 season due to coronavirus, according to transfermarkt.
