On September 20, LaLiga Matchday 7 saw the Madrid derby take place, with Atlético Madrid hosting Real Madrid. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw, but the match featured a series of controversial decisions. In the 49th minute of the second half, Huijsen pulled Giuliano Simeone in the box, leading to a penalty. After VAR intervention, he was sent off with a red card.
In the 38th minute, Bellingham and Cristian Romero challenged for the ball. As both went for it, Romero's studs made contact with Bellingham's knee. The referee initially showed Bellingham a yellow card, but after VAR intervention and a review of the replay on the pitchside monitor, the referee rescinded Bellingham's yellow card and instead booked Romero.
In stoppage time of the first half, another controversial incident occurred. As Valverde was dribbling forward, Lee Kang-in tackled him with studs showing, catching his ankle and causing it to twist. However, Lee Kang-in was not sent off.
Cadena SER referee expert Iturralde González, analyzing these two decisions, believed that both actions could have warranted a red card. He noted that Lee Kang-in's foul was "more aggressive and more likely to cause injury."
In the 49th minute of the second half, Huijsen pulled Giuliano Simeone in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. After VAR intervention, Huijsen was shown a red card in the 51st minute, leaving Real Madrid to play with ten men.

Talk about controversy: Romero went for the ball and accidentally catch Bellingham and got carded. no problem he got the man yellow card sure. Vini and Simeone in a scramble for the ball, vini catches Simeone in the back of the head with a knee. no card? why when that's more serious and looks more intentional

most of the times bad officiating uses to cost Real Madrid an important game in La Liga. look at the ref of this atletico Madrid derby just like a baby ref, always taking wrong decision.

Does that mean Barca defenders don’t get sent off or what? Your idea of football is just something else understand the difference between rivalry and hatred
