Courtois previously left a World Cup match due to injury. Now, the Real Madrid goalkeeper has recovered. The Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws interviewed Courtois at Tomorrowland to ask his opinion on Van Bommel's appointment.

Regarding the new coach of the Belgian national team, Mark van Bommel, Courtois said: "I don't know him personally. But his coaching experience at Antwerp is well-known. Also, as a player, he had a brilliant career at big clubs and the Dutch national team. So I'm really looking forward to having a conversation with him."

In any case, this conversation will happen because Courtois had stated after the World Cup that he was considering a temporary break from the national team.

He previously told the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuws: "During the Nations League matches (end of September), I hope to stay in Madrid to rest. That way, Raamens, Penders, or Vandevoordt could play. If they (the national team) accept that, then I am very willing to continue playing for the national team."
